A photograph, from around the 1970s, looking west towards the River Dee and the Tidal Harbour. It was taken from the Balnagask side of the harbour mouth with Skate's Nose Jetty is in the foreground.

An entry on Aberdeenshire Council's Historic Environment Record website indicates that the latter structure was constructed, in its current form, in 1877.
