The illustrated front cover of a circa 1905 guidebook for the City of Aberdeen designed to encourage use of the Corporation Tramways.
The proper, title page, name of the publication is Aberdeen and neighbourhood by the tramway car routes. The guidebook was printed by The Rosemount Press. It includes a photographic portrait of Alexander Lyon (1850-1926), who was then convener of the Tramways Committee, many photographs of Aberdeen sights, and adverts for local businesses.
The front cover illustration shows a well dressed woman boarding the no. 54 tram on the Queen's Cross route. A conductor and other passengers are also shown. The tram is located outside the Town House on Union Street.
