Title
Fountainhall Road, Aberdeen
Description
A postcard looking north from the top of St. Swithin Street towards Fountainhall Road. In the centre of the image is an ornate fountain with lamp at Queen's Cross and Rubislaw Church is on the left. Children and a dog are sat by the lamp. Other pedestrians are shown too. In the distance, a tram can be seen entering the tram depot on Fountainhall Road. Tramway tracks are visible on all the road surfaces. This postcard was printed for and sold by stationary James Donald of 395 Union Street, and was published by Valentine, the famous Scottish postcard company from Dundee. The card is addressed to a Miss Ada Jones, hoping she is having a nice time and commenting that it is very cold but dry in Aberdeen. The card has a King Edward VII stamp, and as indicated by the post office stamp, was sent on 25th August 1910.
