42-56 George Street
A 1987 photograph looking north showing part of the eastern side of George Street. This is the now bygone section of the street between Upper Kirkgate and Loch Street.

This image looks across the road from outside K Shoe Shop, at 29 George Street. Part of the sign for John Martin, the butcher next door, which read "Meat at Martins" can be seen in the top left.

The photograph shows Aberdeen Records & Tapes at no. 42, Maxwells, a general store that span five floors, at no. 48, and Home Charm, a DIY store at no. 56.

Many of the shops are advertising sales. These were likely closing down sales as the buildings were shortly to be demolished to make way for the Bon Accord Shopping Centre.
