1-57 George Street
A 1987 photograph looking south and showing part of the western side of George Street. Nos. 1, in the distance at the junction of Schoolhill, to approximately no. 57, on the right of the image.

Visible shops include K Shoe Shop, at 29 George Street, John Martin, butcher, at no. 31, I-D, Edwards Sir, a menswear shop at no. 39, the former site of women's clothing shop Mackays, a stationery shop called Cards and Pens at no. 47, D.E.R. Ltd., a television and VCR rental shop, at no. 51, and Ladbrokes at no. 53.

These buildings were shortly afterwards demolished to make way for the Bon Accord Shopping Centre.

This photograph was probably taken from outside the Buttery, a bakery and café of the A. B. Hutchison firm, on the corner of George Street and Loch Street.

The area shown is now within the Bon Accord Centre.
