The young piper pictured on the right was my Grandfather Piper William J Watt. William lived well into his late 70s. Moved to Winnipeg Manitoba in the 1920s. Many of his Pipe Tunes were published in the GH collections 1 & 2.

His younger brother Peter Watt MM was also a member of the same battalion. My Grandfather survived the war. Unfortunately, his younger brother was lost Nov 1916.

Watt Peter Pte 2652 MM 7th Gordon Highlanders b Peterculter, e Echt 18, Killed in Action F & F 13-Nov-16. Son of Mrs Margaret Watt, Moss Side, Countesswells, Aberdeenshire. Peterculter MI No 20. Son of William Watt & Margaret Spark.
