Mar's Castle
Description
Mar's Castle, Gallowgate. It is said to have been built by an Earl of Mar for his town lodging in the 15th century and at one time had a large garden and summer house in the rear. When it was being demolished on account of its tumbledown state in 1897, the date 1595 was found on the gable.
