A notice from Aberdeen Town Council suggesting a temporary closure of shops and businesses following the death and funeral of Princess Charlotte. The broadside is dated 18th November 1817. Princess Charlotte Augusta of Wales (1796-1817) was the only child of George, Prince of Wales (later George IV), and Caroline of Brunswick. She was a popular figure and her death aged 21 was mourned across Britain.
