Historic Photographs Details
A photograph looking south west from the Old Military Road on the slopes of the Little Craig hill.

Beyond an icy River Gairn, in the middle distance, can be seen Gairnshiel Lodge, partially obscured by trees, and Rinloam further on.

Aberdeenshire's Historic Environment Record website describes Gairnshiel Lodge as a former hunting lodge originally built in 1746 by the Garden family.

The image shows the glen deep in winter.

This image likely dates from the 1970s or 80s. It is a part of a collection of slides donated to Aberdeen City Libraries by Aberdeen City Council's Publicity department.
