Other Information
For a short spell in 1896, Woodside had its own newspaper, entitled Ye Woodside Presse. Here is a short poem published in the first issue, which gives an indication of the strong sense of identity and community felt be Woodsiders, despite the amalgamation of the burgh into the city five years previously. A number of issues of Ye Woodside Presse can be viewed on microfilm at the Information Centre in Aberdeen Central Library.
