Cherryvale Bridge over the Denburn.

Correspondent Ed Fowler has suggested that the area near Cherryvale Bridge is associated with the artist George Jamesone. The bridge was a quarter of a mile west of his celebrated Four Neukit Garden of c.1635 (near Garden Nook Close and the Well of Spa). The garden was was created from the former c.1601 Playe Field (Outdoor Theatre) grounds and clearly recorded on Parson Gordon's Map of 1661.
