Laird Studio portrait of a soldier
This photograph has kindly be sent to the Local Studies team by correspondent Graeme Lean, who shared the following comments with us:

"It was taken at Laird Studios 246 Union St Aberdeen in November 1918. The subject is my grandfather Albert Lean, an Australian soldier who was wounded in France on 29 Sept 1918. Following hospital treatment in England he was transferred to the Ist Scottish General Hospital and discharged from there in November 1918.

Another photo in the collection taken at Laird Studio (see here) appears to include the same furniture item that my grandfather was seated on."
