This is one of a series of images kindly donated to Aberdeen Local Studies by our colleagues in the Masterplanning, Design and Conservation Team. The images show the Green in 1995 before, during and after a programme of environmental improvements.

This image shows a close-up of the street's surface outside the back of Aberdeen Market after the work has been completed.

The sign that can be partially seen on the building to the right of the image is likely for the Imperial Hotel. It used to occupy the nearby flat-iron building located between Stirling Street and Carmelite Lane. This later became the Carmelite Hotel.
