Title
Regent Quay
Description
A photograph of three steam trawlers berthed alongside one another on Regent Quay. It was taken from the other side of the dock looking north towards the city centre. In the background on the left can be seen the Harbour Office building at 14-16 Regent Quay. It was built in 1883-85 by A. Marshall Mackenzie for the Harbour Board and is still in use today. A bit further back one can also see the Town House clock. The two visible trawlers are North Queen (A78) and North King (A86), both built in 1906 by Hall, Russell & Co Ltd. for North Line Steam Fishing Co. Ltd. Both vessels switched owners many times, however the photograph was taken no later than 1920, when their registrations were switched to Granton.
