Sir George Skene of Fintray and Rubislaw
A portrait of Provost Sir George Skene (1619 - 9th April 1707). He served as Provost of Aberdeen from 1676-1684 and is buried in the graveyard of St Nicholas Kirk. His home, Provost Skene's House, across from Marischal College remains a Aberdeen tourist attraction. Skene was knighted by The Duke of York in 1681 while in Edinburgh attending parliament.
