This photograph from 1935 looks east from Union Terrace towards the back of the old Trades Hall on Belmont Street. The sign on the western side of the building cinema reads "New Kinema", which was the cinema's name from 1921 to 1935. It was renovated and reopened on 24th June 1935 as The Belmont cinema. In this image there is also a large board on the building advertising the film Redhead with Bruce Cabot.
