Description
The Well in the Green historically important from being connected with the fiirst introduction of a regular water supply into the city in 1706. It stood originally in Castle Street. It was taken down about 1840 but then re-erected in the Green in 1852. It is now to be found in the Castlegate opposite the Town House.
