It was a collaboration between the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce, Aberdeen Town Council and the <i>Evening Express</i> newspaper. It was created as a public health measure during the typhoid epidemic during the summer of that year. The pamphlet was printed by local firm, G. Cornwall and Sons.
