James J. Wilson's bakery fleet, Bucksburn, 1910s
James J. Wilson's bakery fleet, Bucksburn - this photograph dates from the 1910s, when the shop and bakery at 13 Auchmill Road was owned by James Wilson. Here we see his horse-drawn vans setting out on their deliveries to homes and shops in the area. By 1920, however, the shop and bakery belonged to James S. Rodger and "Rodger's Bakery" was to be a familiar store in Bucksburn for more than 30 years. It is now the parent shop of Chalmers of Bucksburn Ltd., which owns shops all over Aberdeen and Deeside.
