This exhibition shows current progress on the digitisation and description of a collection of approximately 400 glass plate photographs showing life in Aberdeen Harbour during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

When complete the collection will provide a look back to when fishing, shipping and shipbuilding were vital industries in the Granite City. The images have a particular focus on the recovery of damaged ships and the development of the harbour's fish market.

This project is ongoing and made possible with the assistance of volunteers. We will progressively add new images to this exhibition as they are ready. Please check back periodically to see the new photographs.
