This picture from 22nd April 1943 shows two Indian soldiers driving a cartload of straw through the village of Culter (seven miles west of Aberdeen). The cart is being drawn by 2 mules. During the Second World War, soldiers from other countries were posted to assist in the war effort. Many Canadians worked as lumberjacks cutting down forests in the North East.
