John M. Cheyne in France

A group portrait of the 10th Battalion Labour Corp in France during World War One.

The man eighth in from the right, in the third row (wearing a slanted bonnet style hat), is Private John M. Cheyne. He sent this postcard to his wife Jane Cheyne who was living at 5 Pirie's Lane in Woodside.

This postcard was lent to Aberdeen City Libraries by Bill Cheyne, their grandson, so that we could create and preserve a digital copy for public use.
