Historic Documents Details
A large Highland and Agricultural Society Show took place in Aberdeen on 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th July 1894. This bird's eye view illustration of the show yard was on the front page of a special 4-page supplement of the Evening Gazette newspaper.

As shown in this illustration the show yard was located on the Queen's Links in front of Constitution Street and Cotton Street. The buildings shown in the background here are likely representative of the older Aberdeen Bathing Station and the Beach Battery.

The event was primarily a showcase of industry and livestock. The Duke of York, later to be George V, was the President of the Society and he visited on the 25th.
