Historic Photographs Details
A photograph of Springhill House taken from The Freedom Lands and Marches of Aberdeen 1319-1929 (1929). This book was compiled by Donald B. Gunn (1891-1946), town clerk depute at the time, and James Cruickshank (1869-1956), the local historian.

This house stood on the piece of land in the Mastrick/Sheddocksley area between Springhill Road and Deveron Road that is now a public park.

The book states that the lands were feued in 1764. These lands were once the home of Provost and architect James Matthews.
