Historic Photographs Details
Provost Skene's House, Guestrow. It probably dates from 1545. It was called Cumberland's House, from the six-week residence there of the Duke of Cumberland in 1746. By the 19th century, it had become the Victoria Lodging House and was due for demolition but was saved by the intervention of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, in 1938. It has since been restored and is now a museum.
