The south side of Upperkirkgate, looking west to Schoolhill and the junction with St. Nicholas Street, c.1950 prior to demolition in 1953. The building at the extreme right of the photograph is Reid and Pearson's. Behind the lorry is the premises of Charles Allardyce, surgical instrument makers; next door was Joseph Sievwright, watchmaker; then A. B. Hutchison, bakers.
